We're pleased to bring you a small update to MuseScore Studio: version 4.6.4. This update includes critical fixes to improve app stability, security, and performance. It is recommended for all users.

It also includes enhanced features to support online sounds, ensuring the best compatibility with Cantai for performing lyrics in playback.

Hi everyone,

We're pleased to bring you a small update to MuseScore Studio: version 4.6.2. This update fixes several important regressions.

This release also restores compatibility with macOS 10.15 and 11, which was lost inadvertently in 4.6 when we updated to Qt 6.9.2. We've now patched Qt to maintain compatibility with those versions as well as the very latest macOS Tahoe 26.

With the release of MuseScore Studio 4.6 just around the corner, we want to let you know that the previously announced integration with Cantai will be delayed by a couple of months. This is to allow Cantai to make a few improvements to the technology, ensuring it will handle the influx of requests that will occur when we release it to the MuseScore Studio audience.

We're pleased to announce that the alpha release for MuseScore Studio 4.6 is now available for testing. You can download it for:

Windows (MSI installer)
macOS (DMG)
Linux (x86_64, ARM64)

Once the alpha is installed, it will show up on your machine as ‘MuseScore 4 Testing’. You can install it alongside your current version of MuseScore 4, but note that the two versions will share preferences and workspaces. Also, scores saved with 4.6

Hi everyone,

We need your help testing MuseScore Studio with a new version of the Qt (pronounced ‘cute’) framework that powers our UI (user interface) on the main desktop platforms.

We were using Qt 6.2 before, but now we’ve switched to Qt 6.9.1 in the latest nightly builds of MuseScore Studio’s master branch.

This upgrade fixes several long-standing issues that users have reported with earlier Qt versions, including:
